What is the average auto transportation time? |
| |
The average transportation
time is generally between 8 to 10 business days. Please bear
in mind the best situation where our client has given us a two
weeks notice of their shipment dates, 8 to 10 days is an
average, but it could be a few less or a few more, depending
on what order your vehicle(s) was loaded in. For instance, if
your vehicle was the last one loaded it will be the first one
delivered, then it would take less time. On the other hand, if
it was the first one loaded it will be the last one delivered. |

|
What type of truck will transport my vehicle? |
| |
Your vehicle will be transported on
an 8 to 10 car automobile transport truck. The trailer that
is used are the same ones that new car automotive
dealerships use to transport their vehicles. The size of
these trucks are larger than the traditional moving van or
an ordinary semi trailer. Sometimes these trucks can not
travel onto rural streets because of neighborhood
restrictions and the difficulty of maneuverability,
especially areas off of key roads that have low hanging
trees or low clearance bridges. |

|
Is the door-to-door auto shipping service really true? |
| |
The door-to-door service is true! In
most cases, your vehicle(s) are picked up from your chosen
location, and dropped off at you specified destination,
generally your home. We state "in most cases" because if a
neighborhood can not accommodate a truck of this size, then it
is not possible for us to travel in it and make the delivery.
The best guideline to indicate that we can deliver your
vehicle to your front door is this: If you have your home on
a key road that is at least to lanes wide with no low bridges
or low hanging trees, and the streets directing to that area
are also as accommodating, than you can experience our
door-to-door service. Our driver will call to confirm the
precise location of your pick up and delivery and then will
decide your accessibility. If you vehicle can not be
delivered to your door than the driver might recommend to
convene in a close by shopping center to load or unload your
vehicle. The driver decides where they will take the truck,
because the safety of the truck and the transported vehicles
are in the hands of the driver. |

|
When shipping my vehicle, does it go to a terminal? |
| |
Your pick-up and drop-off location
determines the use of a local service. In rare cases when the
access to your location is limited, or where scheduling
contradictions occur, we will use a terminal service. Our
terminal services have full coverage insurance. |
| |
|
How does the transportation of my vehicle operate? |
| |
Once you place your order
your cargo will be scheduled for pick up. A truck driver will
call you 24 to 48 hours before your pick up date in order to
schedule a time to pick up your vehicle. The driver will do a
condition report on pick-up and you will receive a copy of the
report signed by the person turning the car over and the truck
driver. At the vehicle's delivery destination this same bill
of lading is presented and at the same time you must compare
the car to the report carefully. If you believe that damage
has taken place to your vehicle, you must take note and report
it previous to signing the bill of lading and before the
driver leaves. If the damage is not noted at the time of the
delivery and the driver is not informed, the claim will not be
recognized by the insurance company. |
| |
|
When shipping my car, am I allowed to put things in the trunk? |
| |
No. Personal belongings are not allowed
in your car or trunk. The reasonwe can not allow this is that
the Department of transportation does not authorize the
shipping of "personal items" in a vehicle that is being hauled
by an "Auto Carrier". If this happens we could be fined up to
$10.000 per occurrence. Our second reason is that the carrier
insurance does not cover any personal items in the
vehicle. |
| |
|
How much notification do you require to pick up my vehicle? |
| |
Everybody's schedule is different and
the amount of notification required can change from week to
week and from location to location. We generally need to
receive 2 to 3 weeks notice but can accommodate shorter
notices for an expedite fee. The rule of thumb is the more
time you give us, the better our chances are of securing your
spot on a truck to meet your required needs. |
| |
|
What types of payment are accepted for auto shipping? |
| |
The payments we accept are: cashiers
checks, money orders, cash and Visa or MasterCard. A deposit
of $250.00 per vehicle is taken to reserve your spot on a
truck and at the time that your vehicle(s) is delivered the
balance will be due C.O.D. with cash, money order, or a
cashiers check. Their will be no acceptance of credit cards in
advance of the delivery. You will need to pay all freight
charges in full prior to the release of your vehicle(s). When
the auto transporter has received the signed bill of lading
noting any damages, the claims will be dealt with
independently via the insurance provider. |
